Our services are all geared towards helping build strong whānau, thriving communities and successful enterprise.

Sally Crown

Kaitohu | DIRECTOR

(Ngāti Rereahu, Ngāti Tuuwharetoa, Ngāti Apakura)

Originally from the King Country Sally has an extensive background in communications, business development, policy, governance and education programme development and delivery. She has worked as a consultant in these areas for community, iwi and private organisations.

Married to Gareth and well established in the Hawke’s Bay Rohe she also currently serves as a trustee or on the governance board for a number of local trusts and as a Napier City Councillor for the Nelson Park Ward holding the economic development portfolio.

She is excited to help others succeed and grow through Tipu Ake Tonu.

Theresa O’Brien

Kaitohu | DIRECTOR

(Ngāti Porou, Ngāi Tuhoe, Ngāti Rārua me Ngāti Toa Rangatira)

Theresa O’Brien was born and raised in the Hawke’s Bay region.

She brings in-depth experience in business development, community development, project management and governance. She has worked in both the private and public sector as a consultant in these fields.

Theresa’s expertise in the private sector has seen her successfully set up numerous businesses across varying industries over the past two decades. She is a mother of two sons and has a passion for helping others reach their full potential. In addition to Directing Tipu Ake Tonu Ltd, Theresa is also the Company Director of Angel Promotions Consulting.

Mel Toy

Ringa Āwhina Tāhūhū | EXECUTIVE SUPPORT

(Tainui, Ngāti Maniapoto)

Mel was born and raised in Tokoroa, Waikato and moved to Napier ten years ago. She has spent the past seven years raising her young family and has recently returned to the work force focusing on project management.

Mel has a background in education, professional studies, event management, executive assistance and cake decorating. She brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the team in order to get the mahi done.

Mel has worked for Theresa for the past year and managing and contributing to various projects and events since 2016. She is looking forward to her journey with Tipu Ake Tonu.

Chloe Katene

Kaiwhakahaere | PROJECT MANAGER

(Te Ati Haunui-a-Paparangi, Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Toa Rangatira)

Chloe was born and raised in Maraenui, Hawke’s Bay and has recently returned home to New Zealand to start a family. Having spent six years travelling and working internationally, she brings home an open mind with a wealth of different industry experience.

Her strengths lie in health & fitness, programme development, operation procedures, content creation and the willingness to give any project a go.

She has been involved with various projects with both Sally and Theresa from 2011 and is excited to support and engage with all that come through Tipu Ake Tonu.
